Dolly Update!!

My gosh, where has the time gone?? It seems like just the other day I was posting that I placed my order with Fairyland for my Minifeé Shushu! Instead it was, well…months ago. And guess what? She finally arrived! She shipped on the fifteenth of last month and arrived a few days later. I know it’s really late, but meet Armani…

Anybody who’s been following my Instagram has found out my news, but I wanted to share it here too. For those of you who’ve been following my blog for a long time, you know a little of my journey with dolls. You know that a long time ago I discovered BJDs (and even wrote a silly and very amateur introductory post about basic BJD info). And you probably remember that I was dying to have a Minifee Shushu. That seems strong, but whatever I calmly posted on my blog, I was dying to have her, trust me. :P

After years and years of having to put that dream on the back burner because of some family circumstances, it finally looked like I was going to be able to afford a BJD. As you know from my last post, I wanted it to be an Iplehouse Lahela. I had never wanted a doll that large and Iplehouse dolls don’t offer quite the posability I originally wanted, but I was willing to give that up because she was simply gorgeous. Have you seen her? Then you know what I’m talking about. I can’t guarantee that if she became available again and I had the money that I wouldn’t still snatch her up. ;)

But she sold out before I could afford her, which I quickly made peace with. It turned out that I was almost glad that I didn’t have the chance to get her. I became increasingly excited about the prospect of going back to my old dream…of getting a Minifee. I’ve always known that no matter what my first doll was, I would someday get a Minifee. To be honest, I don’t know how I could want another kind of doll with how obsessed I’ve been with Fairyland dolls at times.

So anyway. After all the waiting and warring over what BJD to go with, I finally had the chance to get the doll I always went back to: a Minifee Shushu. And I’m out of my mind with excitement to tell you, I took it (the chance, not the doll :P)! Now I just have to wait a few months more until she arrives… XD

So thanks for reading! And to those of you reading this who were following my blog back then… I know I’m the laziest blogger ever, thank you so much for sticking around… XD And last but not least, thank you to God for making my dream come true, and thank you to my family for listening to all my ramblings and loving me anyway until it did. ;D

Goodbye Video-Making, Hello Art

Okay, so that sounded better in my head. Basically, I have had so much going lately as far as video-making that I’ve gotten burned out, so I decided to put it aside for a little while. It’s been maybe a week, and I’m already starting to feel inspired again. Of course, I don’t have the material for what I want to do yet, so it’ll take me some time to start working on that.

So, in lieu of vidding, I’ve been painting. Not really painting, like with an easel and brushes and all that. No, I’ve been working on some hardcore digital art. Okay, maybe not hardcore. It’s probably all relative anyway. But my sister started into it recently, and watching her gave me the itch to give it a try. My first project is almost finished, so hopefully I’ll get it posted soon (possibly with some progress shots, too).

It’s probably also worth mentioning that I uploaded a handful of older videos before my hiatus. They’d been rotting on my computer while awaiting a few easy fixes that just required me to sit down and get it done. There are still a few newly finished videos that I just haven’t uploaded yet, so that will be happening soon too.

So anyway, that’s what’s been up, other than the fact that I’m in doll-collecting doldrums. As you probably know, I’ve been trying to get a BJD forever (about four years, to be more exact), but it’s just never worked out. Minifees have been the closest thing to my dream doll, although there are other kinds that are awesome. One of which is Iplehouse.

Unfortunately, the only sculpt of theirs that I absolutely loved was unavailable. Until the ninth of last month. They just released a renewed version of their HID body, and the Lahela head is available to choose. Sadly, the event is ending on the fifth and I won’t be able to afford her in time. This isn’t close to being the first time I’ve fallen in love with a limited edition doll too late, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. While it’s disappointing, I still love Minifees and would absolutely love to have one. It also helps that the one I want isn’t limited. ;)

So hopefully this hasn’t been too boring…there are more exciting things to come! See you soon XD

Happy New Year 2017!!!

screen-shot-2017-01-07-at-10-45-38-am

It’s a new year, people! Sorry for the delayed post. I’ve been working hard on helping the dolls get their New Year’s post up for everyone to read. It might take some time, but it is in the works!

I hope everyone has the best year yet. :)

Merry Christmas 2016!!!

Hello, everyone! I’m a little late with this post, I realize. But I enjoyed Christmas day without having to update any blogs. It was just family, good food, and awesome presents. But even if I’m a tiny bit delayed, I still wanted to wish you a merry Christmas!!!

My Christmas surprise is that the dolls and I have finally gotten a new post up on Likeness of Life. There will be multiple parts to this adventure, and we hope everyone enjoys!

Vidding & Brainstorming

Making fan videos. Writing. Trying to help the dolls get the next post of Likeness of Life done. These are the things that occupy my computer time. The trouble with the doll’s blog is, there’s an introduction coming up and nobody is quite sure how to present it. But never fear, it is in the works. As for writing, I’m working on a short story and I recently did a rough outline for the whole thing, so that required even more brainstorming.

And then there’s vidding. I’ve uploaded several more videos since my last post, and there’s still many more to be finished. I’ve been wanting better editing software for almost as long as I’ve been making videos, so I finally looked into some different programs and found one that’s been a joy to work with: VideoPad. It’s very different from my previous software, but since I got used to it it’s been amazing. So many more editing options than what I had before, without the price tag of Sony Vegas or Final Cut.

Anyway, I’m not dead, in case anyone was wondering. I’m just a terrible blogger. :P

Don’t forget to check out my latest vid to Britt Nicole and NF’s brilliant “Can You Hold Me.” I created it in VideoPad, so I hope you can see a difference. :)

Getting Things Done

Short update here! I finally uploaded a bunch of videos to YouTube – some I’d simply forgotten to upload, others needed polishing up. I made them all this year, some months and months old, but I didn’t think to upload them in order. They’re also all different quality as well as far as editing. Anyway, check them out here, I hope you like them. :)

Hint: Some of them are for Eleven and Clara. ;)

See You Soon

Hello! I’m still alive! I’m beginning to think that blogging is just the opposite of how I’m wired or something. Anyway, I’m here today because of a song called “I Found.” You may have heard it. It’s by Amber Run and I’ve been hearing it in videos for Doctor Who, Marvel, etc., for a long while now. It grew on me and naturally, I decided to check out some of Amber Run’s other songs.

One of them being, “See You Soon.” It seemed like a really fun vidding song and I figured I hadn’t made a video the Eleventh Doctor and Clara in a while, so I whipped something up. It’s nothing spectacular, but I thought it was sweet. You can click here to watch. Hope you like it! :)

We’ll Remember Them For Centuries

Centuries Marvel Banner

Hi! Back with a new video! Actually, it’s not new. It’s been collecting dust on my computer for quite a while now, but I decided to finally post it. It’s a tribute to my favorite characters in the Marvel cinematic universe with Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries.” As I explain in my YouTube description, I know everyone’s done it, but I didn’t know that when I made the video. Although it’s a bit old now, I put all of my know how [at the time] into it, and did a few minor touch ups right before posting. Anyway, it’s not my most fancy, but I hope y’all like it anyway! Click on the photo or click here to watch. :)

The Evolution of Clara Oswald

jenna

Hello! I know I’ve done a lot of Doctor Who posts, but I don’t think I’ve done many just for the sake of discussing the show. But Clara being one of my very favorite companions, and knowing the mixed reactions to her character arc throughout her time on the show, I really wanted to share my opinion. And I mean, this really is just my opinion and I respect the Whovians who completely disagree with me on Clara. Also, there could be possible spoilers. ;) Continue reading
