Goodbye Video-Making, Hello Art

Okay, so that sounded better in my head. Basically, I have had so much going lately as far as video-making that I’ve gotten burned out, so I decided to put it aside for a little while. It’s been maybe a week, and I’m already starting to feel inspired again. Of course, I don’t have the material for what I want to do yet, so it’ll take me some time to start working on that.

So, in lieu of vidding, I’ve been painting. Not really painting, like with an easel and brushes and all that. No, I’ve been working on some hardcore digital art. Okay, maybe not hardcore. It’s probably all relative anyway. But my sister started into it recently, and watching her gave me the itch to give it a try. My first project is almost finished, so hopefully I’ll get it posted soon (possibly with some progress shots, too).

It’s probably also worth mentioning that I uploaded a handful of older videos before my hiatus. They’d been rotting on my computer while awaiting a few easy fixes that just required me to sit down and get it done. There are still a few newly finished videos that I just haven’t uploaded yet, so that will be happening soon too.

So anyway, that’s what’s been up, other than the fact that I’m in doll-collecting doldrums. As you probably know, I’ve been trying to get a BJD forever (about four years, to be more exact), but it’s just never worked out. Minifees have been the closest thing to my dream doll, although there are other kinds that are awesome. One of which is Iplehouse.

Unfortunately, the only sculpt of theirs that I absolutely loved was unavailable. Until the ninth of last month. They just released a renewed version of their HID body, and the Lahela head is available to choose. Sadly, the event is ending on the fifth and I won’t be able to afford her in time. This isn’t close to being the first time I’ve fallen in love with a limited edition doll too late, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. While it’s disappointing, I still love Minifees and would absolutely love to have one. It also helps that the one I want isn’t limited. ;)

So hopefully this hasn’t been too boring…there are more exciting things to come! See you soon XD

imovie & who

Hey there. Been a while. I’ve been feverishly not writing and actually living in iMovie. Very soon, I’m going to have a few new uploads on YouTube. ^.^

Anyhow, forgot to post these back when I first watched The Eleventh Hour. Just because I love these scenes, and let’s face it, he’s still in that place after regenerating where he’s doing things like saying “what” three times just like the Tenth.

i’m so glad i met you

Hello. It’s been a while again. Mostly, I just keep forgetting about my Internet life. Sorry. It happens. Hopefully these Doctor Who edits will make up for it. ;P

Now, I know that this next quote is from the Ninth Doctor to Rose, but I feel like it carried over to the Tenth so much. And what can I say? I love them to bits.

never gonna leave you

Hello, friends. It’s been a long month. As you might’ve seen from my Instagram, life’s been really hectic this past month. I’m not really out of the woods yet, but I’m getting there. God is faithful. And of course, I’m here with some long overdue Doctor Who fan art. I hope to be getting back on the ball soon…I guess I’ll just take it one day at a time. Which, I’m learning, is the best way to live life at any time. ;)

So, to put it simply…long live the fantastic, brilliant, AMAZING Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler. Enough said.

Hope you guys are as happy with these as I am, and I also hope to be back in business soon. :)

Hey there, folks. I’m thinking that the only reason that I’ll be posting for a while is to share my Doctor Who fan art. But I can’t apologize for being a Whovian. ;)

I still am getting a flood of inspiration for Martha edits. Here’s a little more to do with her return in Season 4; First, something feels-y.

And I’ll just say it like it is.

And something to lighten the mood. ;)

And a tribute to Martha and the Doctor (from the seventh episode in Season 3, “42”).

the girl who walked the earth

Hello, fellow bloggers, Whovians, Swifties, etc. Hope you’re doing well. I’ve got some Doctor Who fan art for you all. I’m pretty sure if you haven’t watched the show, I’ve already spoiled everything for you, or either that Pinterest has, so there’s no point in giving a spoiler warning. :P

I don’t know why, but my inspiration for Martha Jones edits/videos seems to be running high. I’m sure it’s because she’s a favorite character, but so is Rose. Donna as well, although I haven’t gotten to know her enough yet to have a lot of inspiration. I’m plotting, though. ;)

So I present a couple of tributes to Martha. The first sort of embodies her decision to stay at home instead of continuing to travel with the Doctor. Starting with before she left in Season 3, and when she came back in Season 4.

In The Doctor’s Daughter, which is the sixth episode of the fourth season, there’s a scene that no one really talks about. Martha is trying to find her way back to the Doctor – needless to say they get separated – and she’s making the journey with a human/fish alien that she aided right after the separation. I won’t go into the details, but the friendly creature dies saving Martha’s life in the rough terrain, and I’ve got to say that it’s some of Freema Agyeman’s best acting as she weeps over the death of yet another innocent creature. And I think that she must’ve been thinking something like what Christina Perri admits in “Human.”

On a (slightly) lighter note, here’s to the legend that traveled the world in the year that never happened:

And now I’ve gotta mention Rose. ;)

(Season 2, Episode 5: Rise of the Cybermen)

Hate to do this to you, but you can’t blog about Doctor Who without bringing on lots of feels. So I’ll just get right to the point:

Martha and the Doctor

So. About Martha Jones. I know I’ve talked some about her before, but I feel like (since I finished the third season of Doctor Who) I’m able to put my finger on what I think about her as a companion. I’m pleased to say my point still stands. Martha is a definite favorite, and I don’t think there’s any need for all this back and forth hate about whether she was good or not. Yes, her friendship with the Doctor was imperfect. But it was real. And that makes it beautiful.

I put together an edit that sort of sums up my thoughts:

That being said, it’s time to present you with some feels. Because no matter what way – romantic or otherwise – the Doctor and Martha loved each other.

While we’re on the subject of Doctor Who, here’s a tribute to Rose Tyler. It’s sad, I know, but I couldn’t help it. XD

Anyway, I hope you like (despite how much this all hurts). ;)
