taking it slower

Hey, guys. Hope you like my new header! I still have not uploaded my remake of “Human.” Don’t worry, it will be soon! I’ve just been pretty busy lately. I have some news, though. I’ve started a new fan fiction, this time for Doctor Who. No surprise there, I guess. I’m not sure how long it will be and I’m not going to come up with an estimate for how much time it will take me to finish it.

I realize I’ve had a lot of ambitious ideas that I’ve posted about on this blog, but life has taken me in different directions. Sometimes very chaotic and stressful directions that haven’t left much room for creative projects. I’m putting some things on the back burner, like my #NightLight blog, my Hunger Games fan fiction, etc.. I feel a bit like I’ve failed in these things, but really, I’m just waiting to continue working on them until my life’s more settled. I have no idea when that will be, but I still plan on returning to these things.

Those of you who keep up with my blog, thanks for your patience. XD If I can find the time and energy, I’m going to post about my fan fiction. Right now, I’m just trying to write the thing. And my remake of “Human” will be uploaded to YouTube soon. :)

Hey there. Wanted to post again before I actually start procrastinating. That’s not all there is to it — I’ve been busy. I began a new story recently, called Do You Remember Me. It’s first person present — really fun to work on. I haven’t decided on a length but I’m around 11,000 words into it. I’m thinking a goal of around 50,000 sounds good. But we’ll see. ;)

But that’s pretty much all the craft I’ve had time for. Not doing much doll stuff, or art stuff, or anything like that. I’ve been getting outside more — enjoying the fall weather! I’ve found new interest in bike riding and frisbee and the outdoors. It’s been a fun distraction. :)

I also had the privilege of seeing a new favorite band in concert recently — Unspoken! I had just downloaded their album when my mom found out they would be playing at a church nearby, and I was super excited to go. It’s not that often that favorite singers come to my area. Maybe I’ll talk about it more in another post. :)

But anyways, hopefully I’ll have some artwork or something to share with you soon. I know I’m becoming terribly boring, but hopefully not for much longer! :)

I haven’t posted in ages. I’m still here, not to worry! But the move was super stressful and I’ve had to take a break. I really should’ve posted and said I wouldn’t be posting for a while, but it got lost in the shuffle. Apologies! I would’ve posted my Tonner doll review much sooner, but there are some issues with the photos. Ugh. I might be having to completely redo it. That was a stress I didn’t need…

I don’t know how regularly I’ll be posting, but I’m not ending the blog. ;) If I devote any time to blogging, it’ll probably be to help the dolls with Likeness of Life. I know there must be a few people (or dolls!) waiting to see what happens next in their tale!

Thanks for bearing with me, and I hope to post at least a couple times a month to let everyone know I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet! ;)

Hello Finally

Hey, everybody! I know I haven’t posted in ages, and I feel sort of bad. To be honest, I’ve been way busy, plus I’ve been procrastinating. I’m sure Anna has updated you on Likeness of Life, but just so you know, there was a family emergency and I haven’t had the time or energy to keep up with a blog. Helping the dolls with Likeness of Life was just about as much as I could do with everything else going on. ;)

So, I hope this satisfies you for now. :) Soon I hope to be posting about my recent drawings, writing projects, etc., but for now this will have to do. I have been pretty busy, and the dolls have gotten way behind on Likeness of Life and they need a little help getting caught up again. ;)

I hope you guys had a good February, and I wish you all a happy March! :D

Leaf Pressing

Hey, everybody! It’s been a rather dull Saturday, and while in a surprising state of boredom, I took a vibrant red fall leaf from outside and decided to press it as part of my growing collection. You see, I was at Chick-fil-A a couple weeks back and found some leaves that were so beautiful that I wanted to keep them.

When I got home, I wrapped them in a napkin and tucked them in an old, thick school notebook that has those nifty straps around the corners that keep it closed. Then later when I checked on my leaves, I saw that they had pressed wonderfully and decided to make a little hobby of it. I’ve pressed leaves and petals with paper towel, toilet paper, parchment paper, and plain old notebook paper as you can see below.

The one on top is a previously pressed leaf, and the bottom one is fresh.

Brave, Laziness, & Everyday Life

Hello, everyone! I’ve been sorta lazy about blogging lately, I know. I’ve been so busy with, well…everyday life. Shopping, fall allergies, etc. But amidst it all, I got my hands on Disney’s Queen Elinor doll from the movie Brave. While I was a little disappointed with the film itself, I have been impressed with the dolls. I had previously purchased Merida, and was so pleased with how authentic she was that I wanted Elinor too. But, you know, one doll from a movie I’m not a total fan of was enough.

Until I dropped by my local Disney store and saw Elinor for $8! Yeah, almost 50% off of her original $14.95 price tag. So I got her, and I am not disappointed so far. Well, except for the fact that several of her joints seem a little defective. But I hope to tell you guys more about it in a future doll review! :)
